This season has focused more on Gabriel Byrne’s Paul Weston, and that has really been working for me. Byrne has been dazzling, in his usual low-key way. Tonight, HBO2 is airing the fourth week’s episodes back to back, and the last moments of the fifth episode are devastating, as Byrne finally lets his feelings about his father pour out. Among the year’s best performances so far.
