IrishCentral.com tells us Brendan Gleeson is rounding up all of the Irish actors he knows for the start of production for his film version of Flann O’Brien’s comedic masterpiece At Swim-Two-Birds.

This month Irish actor Brendan Gleeson is bringing Ireland’s leading men together to make the film version of Flann O’Brien’s masterpiece At Swim-Two-Birds. The dream cast will include Gabriel Byrne, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Cillian Murphy and Colin Farrell.

And

Gleeson knows that each of these world famous Irish actors have genuine comic gifts (and Gleeson’s no shrinking violet himself) so expect something completely out of the ordinary. The film is currently in production in Ireland.

  3. I got the novel (English version) in my mailbox Friday, but I have not started reading the book yet. Have somebody read the novel yet, what is it about?
    I am looking forward to see the movie, because Gabriel will be in it, but it would be nice to now what the movie/novel is about.

  4. I’m very hard-pressed to describe what the book is about, Nora. I gave up trying to read it in despair!

    Maybe this is why the man seems to be under the radar at the moment. He’s closeted in a sound-stage somewhere.

    Brendan, I just noticed was in Braveheart with Mel Gibson. He was Hamish his childhood friend. I can not believe he keeps popping up lately I just saw an idie film with him in it that was made in 1998 just three years after Braveheart. Can not believe they are the same person.
