  1. I was so lucky to be able to experience MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN in NYC on June 10, 2000 and then again on June 23, 2000 with my daughter.
A surreal experience both times – the acting by everyone in the cast was superb! We were able to speak to all of the cast at the stage door – all were so friendly. GB was literally over the moon with enthusiasm when talking with his fans. The film clip is a good representation of the play. In the final few scenes the audience hung onto every word…mesmerizing!

  2. Thank you for sharing this video, Stella. The documentary is rare opportunity to watch Gabriel onstage. Even those few scenes is enough to be mesmerized by the play and his talent as a theatre actor. Watching the interview I was amazed by Gabriel’s tenderness, empathy and melancholy when he spoke about the play. Lucky those people who experienced the incredible power the performance in real life <3

  3. Mary and Violetta,

For YEARS I was jealous of those lucky fans who were fortunate to see Gabriel on stage in this play! Watching this backstage look at Moon, I was reminded of the great achievement of the cast and how they worked together to bring O’Neill’s tale of despair and redemption to the stage. Gabriel’s comments here are so vulnerable and touching–he truly feels the play and is able to put those feelings into words and interpretations. Not everyone can do that. Thanks to you, Violetta, for finding this lovely gem for us! <3

PS. Mary, you are so lucky I could just scream!!! ;-)

  4. Such a moving documentary. He has such a profound way of communicating his understanding of this play and his character. It must have meant a lot to him. I wish I had seen this in 2000. Of course I was so lucky to have experienced Gabriel’s performance in Long Day’s Journey into Night in June 2016, so I can’t complain really. Thank you for finding this amazing video Violetta!
