Gabriel Byrne was appointed a UNICEF Ireland Ambassador in November 2004.
He is particularly interested in helping UNICEF Ireland highlight the plight of children whose lives have been devastated by HIV/AIDS. Gabriel recently held an Exhibition of his own Photographs in aid of UNICEF in New York and was the very special guest at the 2006 Mother’s Day Lunch.
Gabriel is also supporting UNICEF Ireland’s latest campaign “Believe in Zero”. (from the UNICEF website)

Gabriel Byrne is a well-known Human Rights activist and was deeply involved with getting Amnesty’s Imagine campaign running. In fact, it was his inspiration, after hearing his niece’s school choir perform Imagine, that led Amnesty International’s USA office to approach Yoko Ono with the idea for the campaign. Byrne is also a treasured patron of Croi, The West of Ireland Cardiology Foundation. (from the Amnesty International website)

Hi i am a big big big gabriel byrne fan cant wait to he does some appearances in new york, i will be the first on line.He is one sexy man.
Im a fan like all of you ….such a wonderfull man to be admired by so many followers. He is distinguished with every year that goes by and my facination as equal. God bless all of you! I would truly be honoured to meet him (maybe a fantasy). If only as many of us would have the dedication to better humankind, and the opressed….and countless other victims . . . what a world that would be?
