Here are two videos of Gabriel from Revisiting “The Quiet Man”: Ireland on Film, the festival he curated at the Museum of Modern Art May 20 – June 3, provided by MOMA via YouTube.

The other two MOMA videos are available at their website.

And the Byrneholics posting about the festival has more information as well.

The Irish Film Institute, a sponsor of the festival, says this about the array of films included in Revisiting “The Quiet Man”: Ireland on Film:

Announcing the programme IFI Director Sarah Glennie said ‘The IFI is delighted to be working with Gabriel, MoMA and Culture Ireland on such an internationally important retrospective of Ireland on film. The array of cinematic treasures in this season encapsulates the IFI’s commitment to preserving and exhibiting Irish film and many of the films have been provided by the IFI Irish Film Archive. The IFI Irish Film Archive has worked for the last 25 years to safeguard a vitally important social, artistic and historical record. It provides a vivid and tangible document of Ireland’s past and present, and chronicles the development of modern Ireland in a uniquely accessible manner, enriching our understanding of the last century and enabling us to connect with our past and explore our cultural identity. This exciting international collaboration in New York highlights what a priceless and accessible resource is available to people here in Dublin.’

Last but not least for all Gabriel Byrne fans, the pictures from the event(s) are now in the Gallery.

Many thanks to Det. Logan for her heroic reporting on the MoMA festival in our forum. Great job, Logan, and very much appreciated!
