It’s time for the Tony Awards! Our eyes have been on Broadway for several weeks now, watching Long Day’s Journey Into Night make its way through previews and then a stellar opening night.
Seems the judges have been watching, too. The play has garnered seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Revival, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director! The breakdown (and the competition) is below.

This makes me SO HAPPY!!! Congratulations to Gabriel and all!
Hey, Scarlett! I am leaping about the house in happy anticipation and delight. Makes typing hard, but oh how nice it is for Gabriel’s work to be recognized!
And the play has received 7 nominations! That is so lovely! <3
It’s important to be nominated for a work but in this case is more than important because we know Gabriel’s work had not been recognized as he deserved and now he is nominated as Best Leading Actor.
Personally I am happy for him, honestly, and hope he is happy too.
At the same time congratulations for all.
Yes, I think we often feel that Mr. Byrne does not receive the recognition he deserves. But he is getting some now!
And the fact that this production has received 7 Tony nominations is fantastic! <3
CONGRATULATIONS Mr. Byrne!!! Kudos to all the nominees from LDJN. I’m counting down the days until my own journey to NYC to see this play.
Great news!
Gabriel is so talented and when he works with all these other talented people this is like many stars shining at the same time!
