This will be a Tweetathon of pictures and reactions at this year’s Spirit of Ireland Gala, the one about the Groundbreaking. wink

Eventually, the Irish Arts Center will (we hope!) share many more pics on their Facebook page and, when they do, I’ll grab them and bring them to you here.

Until then, it would appear a great time was had by all! Gabriel Byrne and Liam Neeson were on hand to honor this year’s honorees and Gabriel was as inspiring as ever.

It is truly a joy to see the new Irish Arts Center building in New York City become a reality and I am sure everyone who could attend last night’s celebration was happy to be part of this momentous celebration–the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, creativity, perseverance, and persistence.

Gabriel was often both the face and the voice of this project to the rest of the world. His commitment to the Irish Arts Center seems to be infinite. Kudos to you, Mr. Byrne. It’s always good when the prize is won.

More to come soon, so stay tuned!

  1. Love this night the funny thing that I almost couldn’t sleep I’ve been waiting for this day because we don’t get to see Gabriel on the tv a lot or any interview so I need it to be wake to see all the updates on the event but in the end I fall sleep then when I waked up felt like I missed a lot then I saw the clock it’s been only one hour since I slept and I still wake..so I learn that Gabriel Byrne could make us overthinking and you can’t be able to sleep.
