Synopsis

Walking with Ghosts is a courageous examination of the painful and formative experiences of how Gabriel Byrne became who he is today. With poetic sensibility he recalls the people, landscapes and culture that have influenced his life and work.

Defiantly original, this is both a candid exploration of the ambivalence of fame, and a lyrical often heartbreaking account of boyhood in an Ireland now largely disappeared.

The first “blurb” or testimonial is from Gabriel’s long-time friend, the author Colum McCann:

Make no mistake about it: this is a masterpiece. A book that will wring out our tired hearts. It is by turns poetic, moving and very funny. You will find it on the shelf alongside other great Irish memoirs including those by Frank McCourt, Nuala O’Faolain and Edna O’Brien.

There is no official book cover yet, but I never let a detail like that stand in my way, do I? No. Enjoy this cover while you can because the real one is on its way!

Oh thanks Stella, in advance <3. You did the same with "Pictures in my head". I really appreciate it. <3

  5. This sounds like a great biography. But I am not surprised about the fact that the book is well written. I think that Gabriel Byrne is such an intelligent and talented artist, and the fact that he has a great mind and is a master of words both spoken and written will lead to a book that will be great to read. It will probably bring tears in my eyes but also smiles on my lips.
