The day has come at last!

After years of planning, development, and capital campaigning, the new Irish Arts Center is ready to open its doors!

Last year’s Gala was very special: a virtual celebration open to all, with a wide array of guest performances and words of wisdom from several of those closest to the building project, including our favorite Irishman, Gabriel Byrne. It was lovely to sit at home and “be” with everyone around the world as the Irish Arts Center continued in its long-standing endeavor: to bring everyone to our new home in the brand new building.

And now, they have.

This year’s Gala is historic! And it is also In Person, so get your tickets now!

And do come back here and share if you are lucky enough to go, okay? heart

Right, ’cause we all have $1,250 to spend on a ticket! Not to mention clothes/shoes/makeup, flight, hotel and Danu knows what all else!

(That was sarcastic toward them, hermana querida. )

    • Yeah. It’s expensive. ;-)

But the Gala is an annual fund-raising activity. The Irish Arts Center depends on outside funding from people like us to keep its doors open. Gabriel Byrne has been a staunch advocate for this new Irish Arts Center building and he’s been eloquent in his explanations concerning the importance of a physical place for the Irish community in New York City and beyond. Not everyone can afford to attend the Gala, of course, but those who do contribute make it possible for others to enjoy the IAC’s programming all year long. It’s taken them 10 years to get enough funding together for this new building. I wish I could be there for this year’s Gala! <3

  2. Hope it’s a great night and they can have a wonderful turn out.
