Mongrel Media, located in Toronto, is home to most of the information currently available on the Internet for Death of a Ladies’ Man: trailer, posters, pics, etc.

Their webpage for the film tells us the theatrical release date has been set for March 12, 2021!

Celluloid Dreams has a page for the film, too and you will find this on theirs:

It is unclear what this means, but we hope it means theaters in Canada will be screening this new film in March AND it will begin streaming on platforms available to the rest of us.

Mongrel Media does a lot on Twitter to promote their Canadian films, so be sure to check them out there.

Early fan reviews from Canadian film festival screenings for Death of a Ladies’ Man have been heartfelt and very positive. This of course makes waiting all that much harder. Sigh.

All we can do now is stay tuned and see what happens!

  1. Thanks for sharing!
I am really looking forward to see this movie!

    • Nora, I have discovered that anticipation is a funny feeling. It seems to be one of those “it hurts so good” feelings. I can’t wait to see this film! ;-)

  2. This film is poignant and also quite funny and inventive. Gabriel Byrne is superb in a nuanced and unsentimental portrayal of a man coming to grips with life and the inevitability of death. Loved the banter between him and his da.
Leonard Cohen’s music is woven throughout the film, and the Montreal and Ireland locations are memorable. I hope we will be able to see the film on the big screen in March. Cinemas are still closed in Canada, but this would be the perfect film to welcome us back.

  3. I can’t wait to see this. The ups and downs and humor make it look like an incredible movie.

    • Yes! A roller coaster. And any film that invokes a laughing/singing/smiling Frankenstein is already a winner in my book. :-)

I am looking this page later. I cannot wait to see this film–the same as my fellows in these pages. I am so anxious for this event. I wait for it to be possible. Even at the distance. Thanks Stella for this excellent news.
