Gabriel Byrne on stage. In his own words. Walking with Ghosts is a homecoming.
Gabriel Byrne returned to the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin for the world premiere of Walking with Ghosts, adapted from his best-selling memoir of the same name. Directed by Emmy award-winning director Lonny Price, it played from 27 January – 6 February 2022. This unmissable theatrical event is now available to watch on demand from 26 February – 4 March.
As a young boy growing up on the outskirts of Dublin, Gabriel Byrne sought refuge in a world of imagination among the fields and hills near his home, at the edge of a rapidly encroaching city. Moving between sensual recollection of childhood in a now almost vanished Ireland and a commentary on stardom in Hollywood and on Broadway, he returns to his home town to reflect on a life’s journey.
By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, Walking with Ghosts is a lyrical homage to the people and landscapes that ultimately shape our destinies.
Directed by three-time Emmy award-winning director Lonny Price, the creative team also includes Sinéad McKenna (set and lighting designer); Joan O’Clery (costume designer) and Sinéad Diskin (sound designer and composer).

Would I expect anything but sold out? Not really. I hope it is a safe and wondrous time for all. Hearts. Hearts. Smiles. Hearts.
Dublin must have heard you, because additional tickets just went on sale today (Friday, January 21)! So some lucky people will be able to attend after all. I wish we could go. Hearts. Smiles. Yes. <3 :-)
We wish we were living in Ireland RIGHT NOW just to see this
REALLY. This event cannot be lost. Walking with Ghosts in the theatre and with our Dear GABRIEL . . . I am so sad to live so far from Dublin. But I am sure that in these pages we can enjoy some news about this great event. MY best wishes to Gabriel in this and thanks Stella for your words. The best for me was to find you and Veronica through these pages. I am very happy for this. You make the best for us with all that news. Thanks for the beautiful photographs of our Dear D’Artagnan. He ever lives in our hearts I AM SURE OF THIS. ALL MY FEELINGS … FOR ALL YOU …
Patiently waiting, with great anticipation, the release of Death of a Ladies Man in this country.
It’s screening at the Capital Irish Film Festival this week. That’s near Washington, DC, so it is getting closer! <3
